How to Plant a Pista tree from Seed!

If you are looking for a perennial nut tree to produce tasty, crunchy, snacks full of healthy vitamins and minerals, you may be considering planting a pistachio (pasta) tree. These nuts are the lowest calories of the nuts, but they are rich in phytosterols, antioxidant, unsaturated fat, carotenoids, vitamins, minerals and fibres. The process of growing at home is long and requires a lot of patience and care. They start to bear fruit when they are about eight years old, and a full harvest will only come fifteen years in the tree’s life. First, choose 10 to 12 good quality and raw seeds. Put the seeds in a dish and allow them to soak.

Now wrap these seeds in tissue paper and spray some water. Keep these seeds in an airtight container. Then keep these containers in the refrigerator for the next 25-30 days. It will take at least 20 days for the germination process to start. After this process start, carefully separate seeds from the tissue paper. Then apply these sprouted seeds to the cocopeat. As the plant grows, you will need to transplant it into bigger pots or ground. The tree usually takes 6-7 years before they start producing fruits.

Pista plant requires a lot of sunlight to grow and will have to give special care during the process of growing seedlings. When you grow Pista from seeds at home, you have to make sure that seeds receive plenty of indirect sunlight, as they need warmth to germinate. Also, make sure to provide the plants with protection against wind with the help of a sheet as the weak plants may fall.
