Neeraj Chopra was born on 24 December,1997 in Panipat,Hariyana as son of Satish Kumar and Saroj Devi.He won Gold Medal in Javelin Throw and brought proud to our country in The Tokyo Olympics 2021.He is an Indian Track and Field Athlete.He is a Junior Commissioned Officer in Rajputana Rifles with Nabi Subedar rank in the Indian Army.
He graduated from Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College in Chandigarh and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts from Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar, Punjab.His entrance to the sports field had a dramatic beginning.He was an obese child in his childhood and suffered body shaming for it.So his father decided to involve him sports so that he loses weight.First he was into running then later found interested of Javelin Throw.
The biggest achievements of this 23 year old are Gold Medalist in 2017 Asian Athletic Championship,2018 Commonwealth Games and 2018 Asian Games.His awards include Arjuna Award (2018) and Vishisht Seva Medal (2020).Various organisations announced him rewards after winning gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.Some of them are ₹6 Crores by Government of Hariyana, ₹2 Crores by Government of Punjab,₹2 Crores by Government of Punjab,
₹75 Lakhs by Government of India etc.
